Coquille River Lighthouse, 2020

oil on canvas 32 x 40 inches

The Coquille River Lighthouse was lit in 1896 to help guide ships into the harbor at Bandon. In 1939 the light was replaced with an unmanned beacon at the end of the jetty and the lighthouse was abandoned. Although the lighthouse is no longer lit, it still invites the curious to explore and stands as a reminder of a past era.
