Coquille River Lighthouse, 1996

This, my first completed painting, was an art class assignment from the seventh grade. I had been experimenting with paint at home before taking the class, but I was experiencing little success. In the months leading up to this painting I had been working on a series of pencil drawings of the Oregon coast, and I chose this lighthouse because I had already drawn it twice before.
